Tips for Choosing a Wedding Venue in Boston

Congratulations! You're getting married! One of the first and most important things you have to do now is decide where you're going to have the ceremony. Churches have long since been the traditional place to change vows. But today, couples are choosing to get married outside, on beaches, in museums and art galleries, or at the cafe where they first met. So when you're deciding where you want to get married, how do you go about doing it?

First, take care of the basics. Figure out how many people will be attending your wedding so that you can make sure that you'll rent a space big enough to accommodate them. To get a good estimate of how many people should be there, you need to take your guest list and subtract it by 10%. This is the formula that most wedding planners and wedding professionals use when trying to estimate how many people will be attending.

The next thing you'll want to consider is whether or not the ceremony and the reception will be in the same location. If not, then you'll probably want to choose venues that are close to each other. This isn't only to save time, but also so you don't have out-of-town guests becoming lost on the way to one or the other!

The last part is also the part that's the most fun. This is making a list of places you think are suitable, and then going to visit each of them. When you go on these trips make sure that you bring your camera to take pictures. This is helpful when you're trying to create the layout of the room with the cake table, guests' tables, wedding table, etc. Also make sure that you bring along a notebook and a pen so you can write down anything that might stand out to (good or bad) about the venue.

Then just compare your notes, determine which one you like best, and then book that wedding venue!
